What I had to do to fight shingles. MURRAY

Andy Murray didn’t have the best start of the season after he hasn’t managed (yet) to win a title following his participation to Doha (he lost to Djokovic in the final) and Melbourne (he lost to Mischa Zverev in the 4th round).

I had to battle against shingles. MURRAY

During a recent interview, Andy admitted that his performance might even be affected by an unpleasant condition: shingles.

The world no.1 commented

“I didn’t play particularly well at the Australian Open. I started to play a bit better as it went on, but not as well as I would’ve liked.

I was a bit sick for ten days, a couple of weeks, after I got back from Australia. I had shingles. It’s not terrible, but it’s not great.

I had to go easy for a little while, so I wasn’t able to push myself that hard in training when I got back into it. But I’m fine now and have been training flat out the last two weeks.”

Andy is now in Dubai where he will try to win his first title. The Brit will face Malek Jaziri in the opener.
