The Six Kings Slam is set to make its highly anticipated return to Riyadh from October 15 to 18, bringing together the top six players in the world for what has become the most lucrative exhibition event in tennis. This year’s edition will feature Jannik Sinner, Carlos Alcaraz, Alexander Zverev, Jack Draper, Taylor Fritz, and Novak Djokovic.
A star-studded lineup for 2025
The 2025 edition of the Six Kings Slam boasts an elite field drawn from the top of the ATP rankings. Jannik Sinner, the current world No. 1, returns to defend his title alongside Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic, both of whom competed in the inaugural edition. Making their debut this year are Alexander Zverev, Jack Draper, and Taylor Fritz, replacing last year’s participants Rafael Nadal, Daniil Medvedev, and Holger Rune.
The format remains a knockout-style competition with two players receiving byes into the semifinals, while the remaining four battle for a spot in the final four. A third-place playoff will also be held between the losing semifinalists.
Jannik Sinner’s triumph in 2024
Last year’s tournament concluded with a thrilling final between Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz. After dropping the first set in a tiebreak, Sinner rallied to win 6-7, 6-3, 6-3, capturing the inaugural Six Kings Slam title. His path to the trophy included victories over Daniil Medvedev and Novak Djokovic before overcoming Alcaraz in the final.
The event also marked the final singles appearance of Rafael Nadal, who faced Djokovic in the third-place match before officially retiring from professional tennis weeks later.
Record-breaking prize money
The Six Kings Slam has quickly become the most financially rewarding event in tennis. Each participant receives a $1.5 million appearance fee, while the winner takes home an additional $4.5 million, bringing the total prize for the champion to a staggering $6 million. This payout surpasses the prize money awarded at any Grand Slam tournament, underscoring the event’s growing prestige and appeal among the sport’s elite.
Riyadh’s growing role in global tennis
The Six Kings Slam is part of Saudi Arabia’s broader push to position itself as a major player in international sports. With the backing of the Public Investment Fund and the General Entertainment Authority, the tournament has quickly gained prominence despite being outside the official ATP calendar. Its success reflects the region’s ambition to host world-class events and attract the biggest names in global tennis.
