Jaime Alcaraz, the younger brother of world number two Carlos Alcaraz, has added a major milestone to his budding tennis career by winning the Copa del Sol with Spain’s under-14 national team. The tournament, held in Valencia, saw the Spanish squad defeat Slovakia in the final to secure their second consecutive title in the event.
Although Jaime did not play in the final match, he was an integral part of the team throughout the competition and was seen enthusiastically supporting his teammates from the bench. The Spanish team, led by captain Nico Pérez Durán, also included Stefan Shangichev and Pepe García Ruiz, who delivered the two decisive victories in the final.
At just 14 years old, Jaime is already making waves in junior tennis. He has earned titles in the Rafa Nadal Tour and Tennis Europe circuits and reached the semifinals of the under-14 Conde de Godó tournament earlier this year. His progress is being closely followed, not only because of his famous surname but also due to his growing list of accomplishments.
Carlos Alcaraz has often spoken about his younger brother’s journey, urging fans and media to allow Jaime to develop at his own pace without the pressure of comparisons. Despite the spotlight, Jaime continues to show maturity and dedication, steadily building his own path in the sport.
The Copa del Sol victory adds to Spain’s rich tradition in junior tennis and highlights the depth of talent emerging from the country. For Jaime Alcaraz, it marks another step forward in what many hope will be a long and successful career.
