Once again Bianca showed her incredible fighting spirit

Bianca Andreescu

Bianca Andreescu is not only one of the most exciting players on tour with her fantastic variations, but she is also totally fearless.

The young Canadian has already captured the imagination of the tennis fans around the world after she conquered the title in Indian Wells early this year. Now, after a lengthy rehabilitation from the problem she had at the right shoulder, Bianca is back in style to reach the semifinal in Toronto.

Overcoming injuries

Bianca had another showcase of her mental strength during the quarterfinal in Toronto on Friday when she defeated the world no.3 Karolina Pliskova during a tough 3-setter when she was struggling with her right leg.

During the press conference following the match against the Czech, Bianca commented:

“In the third set, I told myself, ‘go big or go home.’ Literally, go home. My home is like two minutes from here. I just went out there, and I never gave up because it’s not over until it’s over.”

Talking about overcoming injuries, Bianca commented:

It’s not easy, that’s for sure. Right now, I’m just really happy, my mind and my body are holding up. My team too, I’m so sorry guys for putting you through all of that.”

Head to head Andreescu vs. Kenin

Bianca will face Sofia Kenin in the semifinal. The American is in great form and this week she stunned already the current world no.1 Ashleigh Barty (6-7 6-3 6-4) and Elina Sbitolina (7-6 6-4).

This will be the 3rd time that Bianca and Sofia play each other. The head to head is 1-1.
