Score, report, and key facts

1st set.

There was not much story in this set after Bianca Vanessa conceded no games to Karolina before winning the set 6-0.

2nd set.

Pliskova commenced this set in the best possible way after breaking Andreescu in the 2nd game (2-0) before consolidating her break and lead 5-0. Nevertheless, that was not enough for Karolina to win the set because Bianca Vanessa managed to break back in the 7th (2-5) game. Karolina kept her focus to break Andreescu in the 8th (6-2) game.

A crucial moment of the match was when Pliskova won 5 consecutive games in the 2nd set to change the scoreline from 0-0 to 5-0.

3rd set.

The set was pretty even as both sides managed to hold the serve. The only difference was 1 break that the Canadian conquered in the 9th game (5-4) before winning the set (6-4).

At the end of the match, Andreescu scored 78 points vs. the Czech’s 72 points.

The Canadian won this match even if she was far from perfect in converting her break points since she converted only 38% (5/13). On the other side, the Czech was pretty good in converting 50% of the break points that she procured points (3/6). Yet, that was not enough to win the encounter.

After this contest, the head to head between Andreescu and Pliskova is 1-0 for Bianca Vanessa.
