Hubert Hurkacz has officially withdrawn from this year’s Wimbledon as he continues to recover from a recent arthroscopic knee surgery. The Polish tennis star revealed the news via social media, citing complications that arose during his preparations for the tournament.

Hurkacz shared that his body experienced synovial membrane irritation—a reaction tied to his post-surgery rehabilitation—which requires both rest and medical treatment. Though eager to return to competition, he emphasized the importance of heeding his physical limitations at this stage of recovery.

“Not an easy post to write,” Hurkacz admitted in his message. “Together with my team, I’ve made the decision to withdraw from this year’s Wimbledon… I need to listen to my body.”

The announcement comes as a disappointment to fans and fellow players alike, with Hurkacz being a regular fixture in the latter stages of Grand Slam events. His powerful serve and athleticism on grass courts have made him a consistent threat at Wimbledon in recent years.

Despite this setback, Hurkacz assured supporters that he remains focused on his long-term health and return to peak condition. “Thank you for all the love and support—it means the world,” he wrote. “I’ll be back soon.”
