Andy Roddick and Jon Wertheim explored Carlos Alcaraz’s growing legacy on grass following his victory at the 2025 Queen’s Club Championships. The Spaniard’s win over Jiri Lehecka marked his second title at the event and extended his grass-court winning streak to twelve matches.

Roddick highlighted the technical evolution in Alcaraz’s serve, noting how offseason adjustments have allowed him to spot-serve with greater precision. This newfound versatility has made him especially dangerous on grass, where quick points and aggressive play are rewarded. He explained how Alcaraz can now hit all four corners with his serve, emphasizing how this change has elevated his game.

Wertheim added that Alcaraz’s ability to transition smoothly from clay to grass sets him apart from many of his peers. While others struggle to adapt, Alcaraz seems to thrive, using his speed, anticipation, and shot variety to full effect. His performance at Queen’s, where he didn’t drop serve in his final three matches, underscored his growing comfort and confidence on the surface.

With this latest title, Alcaraz joins an elite group of players who have won both Roland Garros and Queen’s in the same season, a feat previously achieved by Ilie Nastase and Rafael Nadal. As Wimbledon looms, the tennis world is watching closely to see just how far Alcaraz’s grass-court prowess can take him.
