Maria Sharapova is coming out from a rather difficult couple of years. The Russia beauty split with her boyfriend Grigor Dimitrov in 2015, and in 2016 she had to endure the humiliation of receiving a controversial 15 months’ ban for doping.

During a recent interview, Maria explained why last year he had to often think about retiring. The Russian commented

“I had pain in my wrist. I constantly spoke to the doctors although I could not play. It was hard for me mentally, and I came to a moment where I started to make questions to myself about for how much time my body could continue like that.”

What I am going to do after my retirement

Then Maria explained her plan about her “tennis after-life.”

“I have my own company, and it grew up a lot in the last years. I was always very interested in such a project, but in the past, I simply didn’t have time. When I call it a career, I will have definitely much time for it.”

Maria is expected to be back after her 15 months’ ban in Stuttgart.
