Stan Wawrinka amazed once again with his sportsmanship in Melbourne.
What happened?
The Swiss was playing the semi-final at the Australian Open (not an exhibition!) against his dear friend (and GOAT) Roger Federer. The Maestro blasted a serve on the line in the 4th set that was erroneously called out. Instead of getting away with that, the now world no.3 suggested to Roger to challenge the call. Eventually, Roger challenged the call, and the ball was in. This episode has been a bit overlooked by the media that was too drawn by Roger’s results.
Jack Sock did something similar last year at the Hopman Cup, but that was an exhibition, this was the Australian Open semi-final.
This is also why he deserves the nick man “Stan the Man.” Chapeau.
