Sofia Kenin makes light work of Dayana Yastremska 6-2 6-2 in the 3rd round in Toronto on Thursday after playing a superlative match to square off with Elina Svitolina in the quarter.

1st set.

Sofia in this set was in much better shape than Dayana and therefore she won 6-2 after breaking the Ukrainian in the 3rd (2-1) and in the 7th (5-2) game.

2nd set.

Kenin was pretty sharp at the beginning of the set after breaking Yastremska in the 1st game (1-0). Sofia improved her lead after breaking the Ukrainian in the 7th (5-2) game before winning the set (6-2).

At the end of the match, Sofia scored 56 points vs. the Ukrainian’s 32 points.

Kenin served exceptionally well to win 78% of the points (25/32) behind her first serve, and she won 59% points (10/17) on her second serve. The American was stunning in converting all the break points (4/4). On the other side, Dayana wasn’t able to conquer any break point (0/6). That was one of the key issues for her defeat.
