Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer, and Rafael Nadal to work together for the ATP

There has been a lot of discontent during the last few months about how the ATP Player Council was managed.

Roger Federer, among other players, has always been vocal for the fact that it wasn’t 100% right to discontinue the contract of the actual executive chairman and president Chris Kermode.

Furthermore, there were some doubts about the correct management of the embarrassing situation of keeping in the council Justin Gimelstob, who was found guilty of assault in a Los Angeles courtroom on April 22 (story).

Therefore, the Swiss Maestro and the King of Clay sounded kee on stepping in the council once again to help the organism with their precious insights.

This is the communication from the ATP Tour:

“Nadal, Melzer, and Federer were elected by the existing members of the Player Council to fill the roles vacated following the resignations of Robin Haase, Jamie Murray, and Sergiy Stakhovsky prior to Wimbledon.

They will begin their roles with immediate effect and will serve until the end of the existing term which runs through to Wimbledon 2020. The position of Coach representative, following the resignation of Daniel Vallverdu, is to be determined in due course.”

Djokovic will retain the place as the President of the Council as he has always maintained that he can contribute more to the cause. It would be great seeing the Big3 (or the 3 GOATS) working together on the future of the ATP.
