
Champions were crowned in both the men’s and women’s categories on the last day of the Pro Padel League Miami, which was filled with exciting action and spectacular comebacks. As the event came to an end, Miami Padel Club and the New York Atlantics raised the trophies amid crowded bleachers and intense battles.
The New York Atlantics defeated the Flowrida Goats in a thrilling three-set match in the Women’s Division final. In the match tiebreak, Andrea Ustero and Ariana Sanchez maintained their composure and won 7-6, 3-6, 10-7. The Atlantics’ triumph completed a strong week in which they demonstrated tenacity and consistency throughout the competition.
Agustin Tapia and Eduardo Alonso of the Miami Padel Club made a spectacular comeback in the Men’s Division final. After losing the opening set 1-6 to Alex Ruiz and Franco Dal Bianco of the Cancun Waves, the Miami duo recovered to win the second set 6-3 and overcame a 0-3 deficit in the match tiebreak to win 10-8. When Miami dramatically won the championship, the home fans went wild.
In the Women’s Division, Las Vegas Smash defeated Cancun Waves in straight sets to take third place. Alejandra Alonso and Marta Ortega won 6-4, 6-4, thanks to their cool play. In the Men’s Division, the New York Atlantics gained extra points as Lucas Campagnolo and Jon Sanz defeated Pablo Cardona and Leo Augsburger of the Flowrida Goats 4-6, 6-3, 10-4.
Ten teams competed for points to earn a spot in the PPL City’s Cup this October during the week-long event. With 40 points, the New York Atlantics have taken the lead in the league standings after finishing first in the Women’s Division and third in the Men’s. Miami’s victory at home also improves their standing going into the season’s next phase.
