It’s not easy for a pro tennis player dating a colleague, but Gael Monfils and Elina Svitolina are trying and doing their best.
Even if the Frenchman and the Ukrainian are an item for less than 1 year, their relationship is stronger and stronger. They have even created a joint account on Instagram (GEMS life) that became hugely famous among the tennis fans.
Gael and Elina are always keen to stay together, and the best occasions for them are their holidays and the ATP/WTA joint events or slams.
Unfortunately, that is not the case of that Rogers Cup that is played in the same moment at ATP and WTA level, but the competitions take place separately in Montreal and Toronto. This year the men play in Montreal and ladies in Toronto and therefore the only way for Gael and Elina to follow each other is on TV and not in the players’ box. This is exactly what Gael did during Elina’s victorious match against Siniakova on Wednesday (2nd round) and, of course, the Frenchman documented it on Instagram.
