The first covered padel courts in Merseyside are anticipated to be built at Queens Park Health and Fitness Centre in St Helens, according to exciting news released by Soul Padel. The project will include a clubhouse made out of shipping containers with a cafe, store, and restrooms, as well as four courts covered by canopies.

The project is a component of Soul Padel’s larger expansion strategy, which calls for the establishment of 40 courts throughout the United Kingdom. Because of its strong sporting culture and dearth of padel facilities, St Helens was chosen as a crucial site. The local community responded enthusiastically, with about 20 queries each day from interested individuals who wanted to play, according to founder Mark Hewlett.

The project involves efforts to make the sport accessible to everyone, and the courts will be constructed on land owned by the council. There will be subsidized pricing for anyone over 55, free sessions for schools, and partnerships with nearby institutions and universities to offer inclusive programs and employment opportunities.

The courts are anticipated to open in the fall after construction, which should take roughly 16 weeks. In addition to encouraging physical exercise, Soul Padel hopes the new facility will support the town’s community participation and revitalization initiatives.
