TORONTO. Astonishing Azarenka soars past Giorgi in the 1st round of the Rogers Cup

Victoria Azarenka breezes past Camila Giorgi 6-2 6-2 in the 1^st round in Toronto on Tuesday after playing a fantastic match to come up against Dayana Yastremska in the 2^nd round.

1^st set.

The Belarussian in this set was in much better shape than the Italian and consequentely she won 6-2 after breaking the Italian 3 times in the 3^rd (2-1), in the 5^th (3-2) and in the 7^th (5-2) game. Azarenka was broken in the in the 4^th (2-2) game, but that didn’t prevent her to win the set (6-2).

Giorgi was outplayed in the last 4 games of the set (from 2-2 to 6-2).

Azarenka took off at the beginning of the set after breaking Giorgi in the 1^st game (1-0).
