Alejandro Galan and Federico Chingotto won the Italy Major title in Rome for the second year in a row, solidifying their supremacy on the Premier Padel stage. They defeated world number ones Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia in an exciting final at the Foro Italico, winning 6-3, 7-5, with a calm and clinical performance.
It was a replay of the final from the previous year, and on Italian soil, Galan and Chingotto once again proved to be the better duo. Galan got off to a poor start, but the two soon settled into a groove, putting constant pressure on the net and carrying out their plan almost flawlessly. Coello and Tapia found it difficult to counter the dynamic produced by Chingotto’s reliable defense and Galan’s explosive offense.
In addition to ending a nine-match losing trend against their top-seeded opponents, this victory was their fourth of the season and put them tied with Tapia and Coello for the most tournament victories in 2025. The electrifying atmosphere of the Rome Major was further enhanced by the fact that the final was played in front of a record-breaking 33,000 spectators.
After their victory in Rome, Galan and Chingotto are now firmly established as one of the sport’s most powerful teams, and they are gaining ground in their quest for the top spot.
