
In an interview with the Red Bull x el4Set podcast, renowned padel coach Rodri Ovide talked about his background in the game, his teaching philosophies, and the strategies that have molded some of the world’s top players.
Reflecting on his time spent coaching Paquito Navarro and Martin Di Nenno, Ovide described the tactical strategy that enabled them to contend with Juan Lebron and Alejandro Galan for the top spot. He underlined that in order to succeed at the greatest level, flexibility and teamwork are crucial.
His role in mentoring two of the most gifted players on the women’s circuit, Gemma Triay and Delfi Brea, was also discussed. Ovide talked about their training schedule, their relationship chemistry, and the changes they had to do to remain competitive.
