Sharapova to comeback to pro tennis Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in Stuttgart

Maria Sharapova has chosen a very important venue for her comeback: Stuttgart.

The Russian Beauty has been banned for more than one year after she failed a drug test last year in Melbourne. Maria is preparing her comeback to the circuit already, and she announced that she will be back in Stuttgart Porsche Tennis Grand Prix, an event that she has won already three times (2012, 2013, 2014).

The weird stuff

The tournament will commence the 22nd on April, but Maria ban will be lifted the 26th. So, the Russian can be scheduled to play on Wednesday. Before the 26th, Maria is not even allowed to put a foot on site.

From the WTA

Steve Simon, chief executive of the WTA, commented

“Maria is eligible to return to professional tennis beginning on April 26. This will be the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in Stuttgart’s 40th anniversary, and I’m sure the fans there will be excited to see her play.”

Happy to be back in Stuttgart

Maria commented

“I could not be happier to have my first match back on tour at one of my favorite tournaments. I can’t wait to see all my great fans and to be back doing what I love.”
