Bianca Andreescu has revealed the challenges she has faced in maintaining sponsorships throughout her career, particularly due to injuries that have kept her off the court for extended periods. The Canadian tennis star, who won the US Open in 2019, shared that she lost nearly all of her sponsors because she was unable to meet certain contractual obligations.

Andreescu explained that many sponsorship deals require players to participate in a specific number of tournaments each year. However, her struggles with injuries, including a knee issue in 2020 and a back injury in 2023, prevented her from fulfilling those commitments. She also recalled an incident where a sponsor threatened to cancel her contract if she did not complete a commercial on a particular day. Despite attempting to negotiate, she ultimately lost the deal.

Her recent return to the WTA Tour has been met with mixed results, as she continues to rebuild her career following an emergency appendectomy earlier in 2025. Andreescu’s experience highlights the pressures professional athletes face in balancing their health with the demands of sponsorship agreements.

As she works toward regaining her form, Andreescu remains focused on competing at the highest level, hoping to attract new partnerships while proving her resilience on the court.
