Alexander Bublik is embracing his underdog status ahead of his highly anticipated clash with world number one Jannik Sinner at Roland Garros. The Kazakh player, known for his unpredictable style and candid remarks, has already made travel arrangements for his next destination, seemingly accepting the challenge that awaits him on the Parisian clay.
In a lighthearted statement, Bublik acknowledged the difficulty of facing Sinner, calling him a “robot” and admitting that he sees little chance of winning a set. “To be fair, the guy is a robot. What do you expect of me? No chance I will win a set,” he remarked, adding that he has already booked a flight to America.
Despite his humorous approach, Bublik has had an impressive run at the tournament, securing key victories to reach the quarterfinals. His relaxed attitude and willingness to joke about the situation have made him a fan favorite, with many appreciating his honesty and charisma.
Bublik said: “To be fair the guy is a robot. What do you expect of me? No chance I will win a set. I made good money this week and booked a flight to America. Boobie needs a vacation. I have always wanted to see the Grand Canyon.”
As he prepares to take on Sinner, Bublik’s focus seems to be on enjoying the moment rather than stressing over the outcome. Whether he pulls off an upset or sticks to his vacation plans, his presence on the court guarantees entertainment for spectators.
