Gasquet, Mladenovic win the Hopman Cup

Richard Gasquet and Kristina Mladenovic win the Hopman Cup at the photo finish.

The French team defeated Jack Sock and Coco Vandeweghe 2-1 in final. Gasquet beat Sock 6-3 5-7 7-6 (6) while Vandeweghe defeated Mladenovic 6-4 7-5. The mixed doubles were played with the FAST4 format ant it was the French team to have an easy win 4-1 4-3.

I had to be tough mentally. GASQUET

Richard had to save a match point against Sock in singles to comment

“I tried to focus on myself and be tough mentally. It’s very difficult. I know him very well. He’s a great friend of mine. But on the court, it doesn’t count.”

The good news for Perth is that the Hopman Cup will remain in the Western Australia at least till 2022.
