Alexander Bublik explains his unique approach to beating the best players in the world ahead of facing Sinner

Bublik

Alexander Bublik has never been one to follow conventional tennis strategies. The Kazakh player, known for his unpredictable shot-making and creative play, has developed a philosophy that allows him to compete against the sport’s elite despite not relying on endurance-based battles.

“In order for me to win against the best of the best, I have to find ways to outplay them because they will outwork me, outrun me,” Bublik said. “I’m not gonna be able to play five and a half hours against Jack, so I have to work my way through the other parts.”

Bublik’s approach centers on maximizing his strengths—his powerful serve, deceptive drop shots, and ability to disrupt an opponent’s rhythm. Rather than engaging in long rallies, he looks for opportunities to shorten points and force his opponents into uncomfortable situations.

His philosophy was on full display during his victory over Jack Draper at Roland-Garros, where he executed 37 drop shots, leaving the British No. 1 struggling to respond. Bublik’s ability to mix up his game and keep opponents guessing has made him one of the most unpredictable players on tour.

As he continues his journey in professional tennis, Bublik remains committed to refining his unique style, proving that success can come from innovation rather than sheer physical endurance. His ability to adapt and disrupt traditional play makes him a fascinating competitor to watch.
