Stefanos Tsitsipas keep on rising!

The Greek sensation didn’t have the run he was hoping for in Washington after he crashed out in the seminals at the hands of an inspired Nick Kyrgios after the Australian saved 1 match point.

Stefanos didn’t get any additional points in the rankings because also last year he lost in Washington in the semifinals. However, since Zverev didn’t defend his title in DC, he lost 410 points to drop 2 positions in the rankings. Therefore, Tsitsipas will take advantage to go one place up and be the new world no.5 (career-high) and also Nishikori will gain 1 place to be ranked no.6.

Sascha Zverev will be the new no.7, and since he is no.9 in the years to date rankings, he still needs to work a bit to qualify for the finals in London.
