Rafael Nadal is ready to defend his Rogers Cup title in Montreal after he conquered Toronto last year after he defeated Stefanos Tsitsipas in the final 6-2 7-6(4).
The world no.2 is in great form, and he declared to be 100% ready to compete in Canada where he is the obvious favorite.
Nadal in Montreal
Rafa received a fantastic welcome in Toronto ahead of his first training with Sascha Zverev. Nadal also had a rather good draw in Canada to possibly face Alex De Minaur, David Goffin, Fabio Fognini, and Stefanos Tstsipas before an hypothetical final. The world no.2 is “blessed” by the absence of Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic that had to withdraw from the competition to recover their battered bodies after a long and tough run in Wimbledon.
Will Nadal play in Cincinnati?
Unfortunately, it is rather plausible that Rafa will skip the following ATP1000 in Cincinnati as he did last year to get fully fit for the US Open. However, the Spaniard revealed that he will disclose if he will play or not only by the end of the upcoming week when he will see how his body reacts during and after the Rogers Cup.
