Why 2016 was a great year for me. KYRGIOS

Nick Kyrgios has been battling for long with the media and his own erratic behavior.

Even if the Australian has ended the 2016 as world no.13 (career high), Kyrgios still experienced some misery after he was banned from the ATP tour after he gave up a match against Misha Zverev in Shanghai.

Besides all the controversies, Nick thinks that his 2016 was a positive year. The Australian commented

“For anyone in only their second full year on tour to win three titles is pretty big [Marseille, Atlanata, and Tokyo]. It was definitely a successful year for me. I needed to shut down, really, after a very long and tough year. I’m still learning about myself and things like scheduling.

Being the focal point brings added attention and pressure, but I’m not going to knock that. It’s a positive thing, and it means I’ve achieved a position where people care. Someone has to win, and I’m more than capable.”

Nick is now in Perth where he will try to defend the title at the Hopman Cup.
