Sublime Federer beats Gasquet to play Ferrer in the quarters in Madrid

It was Roger Time!

The Swiss Maestro had a really good performance against Richard Gasquet. He was in full control of the match since the very beginning with lots of “wow” shots and spotless service games.

Roger blasted 10 aces (no double faults) to win 87% of his points on the 1st serve. It was striking to see him taking full advantage of the slippery conditions going to the net as much as he could and always trying to put his opponent on the wrong foot.

“Overall I think I played a smart match and served well when I had to and played well on the big points again which I am very happy about,” said Federer.

Talking about his next match against Ferrer. “This is a tough task ahead of me but I feel like I’m playing pretty good the moment and I expect myself to play better each match so we’ll see how it goes tomorrow,”

Ferrer defeated Almagro 7-6 (5) 3-6 7-6 (8).

Head to Head is 12-0 for Roger
