Why Amanda Anisimova is quite happy right now

Currently ranked no.23, Amanda Anisimova is having a fantastic season.

The American teenager won her first career title in Bogota’ and she impressed at the French Open where she lost only in the semifinal to Ashley Barty that ended up winning the tournament.

Anisimova is currently in San Jose where she is seeded no.4, and she is about to face Saisai Zheng in the quarters. The 17-year-old had a great start of her campaign in California after she conceded just 4 games to Madison Brengle (6-2 6-2) in the opening match.

A good transition to hardcourt

Amanda confessed that she was worried about the transition to hardcourts after she played on clay and then on grass. However, she was pleased with how she performed in San Jose to comment:

“I’m really happy to be transitioning back to hardcourts because it’s one of my favorite surfaces. I’m just going to enjoy this week. It was a little bit windy, but I got used to it, and I was just trying to find my game throughout the match.”

The head to head between Amanda and Saisai is 1-0 for the American that demolished her upcoming opponent in Hiroshima last year with a straightforward 6-1 6-1 scoreline.
