Serena Williams beats Wozniacki to reach the quarters in Madrid – Youtube Video

Yesterday we ha another Serena’s show.

After a horrifying first set when the American looked sleepy and was completely outplayed by Caroline, Serena woke up (maybe she had a cappuccino) to come back with all her power and win the match in 3 sets.

“I had a slow start today, I don’t know why,” said Williams. “I was sluggish and mentally maybe fighting some demons. I started trying to play better, the first set was not me at all. I knew I had to get better. I just tried to play my game.”

Caroline won 6 titles last year and she is still trying to win a tournament this year commented “It is feeling better, which is a huge plus. I can take a lot of positives from this match into the French Open,” she said. “I believe in myself, the confidence is there. I can beat anyone on a good day.”

Serena will play the quarters against Maria Sharapova (WO due to Safarova illness). Head to Head: Serena leads 7-2. Maria doesn’t beat her since 2004!

On the other sid of the draw Radwanska beat another Italian, Roberta Vinci. This time it was a bit tougher than yesterday (6-0 6-1 over Errani).

The Pole will play in the quarters Lepchenko and then she may play in the semis… guess who? Her friend Vika.
