Vekic downs Azarenka in the 2nd round of the Mubadala Silicon Valley Classic

Donna Vekic conquers Victoria Azarenka 6-4 6-3 in the 2^nd round in San Jose on Friday. Vekic will face in the 3^rd round.

Azarenka had a great start in this set after breaking Vekic in the 1^st game (1-0). Notwithstanding, Donna refused to bow to come back to break Azarenka 3 times in the 6^th (2-4), in the 8^th (4-4) gamein the 10^th game before winning the set (6-4) after breaking his opponent in the last game.

The Belarussian was not able to offer any resistance in the last 5 games of the set (from 1-4 to 6-4).

2^nd set.

Azarenka came out strong at the beginning of the set after breaking Vekic in the 1^st game (1-0). Yet, Donna succeeded in coming back to break Azarenka in the 4^th (2-2) and in the 8^th (5-3) game before winning the set (6-3).

After this match, the head to head between Vekic and Azarenka is 1-0 for Donna.
