Novak Djokovic has spoken about his recent split with Andy Murray, emphasizing that his respect for the British star has only grown during their time working together. The two former rivals teamed up earlier this year in a coaching partnership that generated excitement among tennis fans, but they have now decided to part ways.

Djokovic acknowledged that while they did not achieve the results they had hoped for, the experience allowed him to see Murray in a new light. “My respect towards Andy remains the same, even more actually. I got to know him as a person, and I think he has a brilliant tennis IQ. He sees the game incredibly well,” Djokovic shared.

The collaboration, which began at the Australian Open, saw Murray join Djokovic’s team for several tournaments, including Indian Wells, Miami, and Madrid. Despite their efforts, Djokovic struggled to find his best form, leading to the mutual decision to end the partnership.

Djokovic is now focused on preparing for Roland Garros, where he will work with Dusan Vemic. While his time with Murray did not yield the expected results, Djokovic remains appreciative of the insights and friendship they developed during their months together. Fans will be watching closely to see how Djokovic’s new coaching setup impacts his performance in the upcoming tournaments.
