Paula Badosa has expressed relief and optimism after making her return to competitive tennis in Strasbourg, finally playing without pain following a difficult two-month recovery. The Spanish star, who had been sidelined due to injury, admitted that the journey back to full fitness was mentally and physically challenging.

Speaking after her first match, Badosa shared her emotions about stepping back onto the court. “I’m happy to be back after two months. It was tough. It was a tough journey. I’m still very far from my level but hopefully I can be there soon,” she said.

The former world No. 2 acknowledged that this particular injury had taken a toll on her mentally, as she felt she had been playing the best tennis of her career before being forced to stop. “This time for me, mentally, it hurt. Because I think I was playing the best tennis of my life. I was playing very well. Physically I was feeling very well also. Stopping like this was tough for me. Finally I’m back pain free,” she explained.

Badosa’s return to the tour comes at a crucial time, with Roland Garros just around the corner. While she admits she is still far from her peak form, her ability to compete without pain is a significant step forward. Fans and analysts will be watching closely to see how she progresses in the coming weeks as she works toward regaining her top level.
