Carlos Alcaraz has secured his place in the Rome Masters final after defeating Lorenzo Musetti 6-3, 7-6 (4). The Spanish star, who is aiming for his first title at the tournament, now awaits the winner of the semifinal between Jannik Sinner and Tommy Paul.

Reflecting on his match against Musetti, Alcaraz acknowledged the challenge of playing against a home favorite in front of a passionate crowd. Despite the strong support for his opponent, he appreciated the respect shown by the spectators and embraced the atmosphere.

Looking ahead to the final, Alcaraz is ready for a tough battle regardless of his opponent. He praised Sinner’s performance against Casper Ruud, describing it as an impressive display of skill. At the same time, he recognized the threat posed by Paul, emphasizing the need to be prepared for either matchup.

This is what he said: “Today the crowd was for Lorenzo. So it wasn’t easy. It was great honestly. The atmosphere was great. I have to say thank you for them being respectful as well. Obviously there are some times they were cheering for him in some moments between serves or whatever. But in general they were respectful. So I have to thank them.”

“In the final, let’s see who I’m gonna play against. Both are playing great. Jannik… I mean everybody saw the match against Casper. It was a huge level. Let’s see. If I’m gonna play against Tommy Paul, I have to be ready for that. If I play Jannik, I have to be ready for that battle. And obviously dealing with the crowd. It’s gonna be an interesting Sunday for sure.”

Beyond the technical aspects of the game, Alcaraz is also mindful of the crowd’s influence. Facing Sinner in Rome would mean competing against another Italian favorite, which could add an extra layer of intensity to the match. However, he remains focused on his strategy and is eager for the challenge.

With the final set to take place on Sunday, tennis fans are anticipating a thrilling contest. Whether against Sinner or Paul, Alcaraz is determined to bring his best game and fight for the title.
