Carlos Alcaraz continued his strong clay-court season with a 6-4, 6-4 victory over Jack Draper in the quarterfinals of the Italian Open. The Spaniard showcased his trademark intensity and shot-making ability, securing a spot in the semifinals.
Reflecting on his performance, Alcaraz expressed satisfaction with his form on clay. “I’m feeling that I’m playing great tennis on clay. I think I started the clay season very well. Obviously, it wasn’t the same after I got injured in Barcelona, but it’s always difficult to be in good shape during the whole swing,” he said.
Despite a brief lapse in focus during the second set, Alcaraz managed to regain control and close out the match efficiently. His victory keeps alive his chances of claiming his first Rome title and strengthens his position as one of the top contenders for the upcoming French Open.
In the semifinals, Alcaraz will face Alexander Zverev or Lorenzo Musetti, setting up another high-stakes battle at the Foro Italico. Fans eagerly await his next challenge as he continues his pursuit of clay-court dominance.
