Federer to break INCREDIBLE record in Mexico? See what he wants to do…

Federer is all set to play in Mexico after 23 long years

Roger Federer after losing one of the most difficult and strenuous Wimbledon matches aspires to bounce back from the defeat. The 20 Grand Slams winner is likely to have a match in Mexico’s Plaza de Toros, a game which is tentatively scheduled on the 23rd of November. Eduardo Valera of ESPN Mexico confirmed the Swiss champ’s arrival.

Will Federer play in Mexico this year?

According to Columnist Sebastian Torok, of the La Nacion, Roger Federer has plans of touring Latin American countries. And that, his Mexico stop could mean Roger breaking old and making new records. The Journalist further added that Federer might also participate in all the exhibition matches that will be held in Argentina, Columbia, and Chile.

His great rivals Novak and Rafael have already played in the Mexican Open, but it will be only the second appearance for the legendary Swiss player, after twenty-three long years. The first time he played was during a junior tennis tournament. Monumental Bullring is predicted to have a big crowd to witness the Swiss swing in action.

Federer has always been vocal about his desire to help the growth of the sport and has played several matches of charity. But in early 2019, he revealed that he wants to play more in Asia and South America. A knee injury in the year 2016 prevented Roger from playing on the Mexican soil, however this time he says: “I would like to play in South America or more often in Asia, to get to know other sand tournaments as well”.

The Mexico Match shall come one week after his long-awaited appearance at the ATP finals season end. Opponent set to play against him has not been announced as of now but he is believed to face the highest-ranked top-50 Mexican player Lucas Gomez.

With various tournaments happening before his arrival in Mexico could mean that he may come with plenty of record titles.
