Felix Auger-Aliassime and Reilly Opelka are going to face off in a very interesting 2nd round in Washington.
At 18-year-old the Canadian is already ranked no.23, but more interesting he is no.11 in the year to date rankings. This means that if he keeps on having his excellent results in the second part of the season, he might even have a shot at playing the ATP Finals.
Felix will face Reilly Opelka that at 21 years of age he is already ranked no.43. The American is starting to find his range to become one of the most feared players on tour thanks also for his formidable serve that his blasted from high altitude (Reilly is 6′ 11′ or 2.11 mt).
Felix Auger-Aliassime is already a top player
During a recent interview at the Citi Open, the American had great words for the Canadian to comment:
“He’s different. That’s one thing you’ll find in common with all the great players- they’re different. Their mindset is different. That’s why they’re great. They’re abnormal. He’s abnormal. To be 18 and to be in the Top-20 in the world is certainly not a normal thing. So, obviously he’s got a lot of things going for him, but mentally he’s as elite as you can find.”
