The biggest infrastructural development for padel in Scotland will be brought to Scotland with a £2.2 million investment from Powerleague. By the end of 2025, 11 further courts will be added to the project in three different locations: Passley, Portobello, and Sighthill.
July will see the opening of Paisley, the first location; Portobello will follow later that month, and Sighthill in October. Each venue will have recently renovated clubhouses and bars, fostering a friendly atmosphere where athletes may mingle before and after games.
This project is a component of Powerleague’s larger £14 million growth plan for the UK, which intends to increase padel’s accessibility for areas outside of traditional tennis clubs. Christian Rose, the CEO of the company, highlighted the sport’s popularity as an inclusive, enjoyable, and social activity as well as its quick growth.
Padel is still becoming more and more popular, with over 25 million players globally, and Powerleague’s investment should increase its visibility in Scotland. In order to ensure that the sport reaches new audiences nationwide, the organization is still dedicated to increasing possibilities for players of all skill levels.
