Tiafoe won the set after he broke the Kazakhstani in the 5th (3-2) and in the 9th (4-5) game. Bublik tried to stage a comeback breaking in the 6th (3-3) and in the 8th (3-5) game. Anyhow, Tiafoe refused to give way before winning the set at the following tiebreak at 5.
