Novak Djokovic accepts wildcard for Geneva Open ahead of Roland Garros

Djokovic

Novak Djokovic has decided to compete in the ATP 250 Geneva Open after accepting a wildcard entry, marking his debut at the Swiss clay-court tournament (May 18 to May 24, 2025). The world number one is looking to gain momentum ahead of Roland Garros, where he will defend his French Open title.

Djokovic’s decision comes after a challenging season, with his best result being a semifinal run at the Australian Open. He recently suffered an early exit at the Rome Masters, where he was defeated by Alejandro Tabilo in the third round. Seeking additional match play before the Grand Slam, he will join a strong field in Geneva, including Casper Ruud, Taylor Fritz, and Andy Murray.

The Serbian star has struggled to find his top form in recent months, and the Geneva Open presents an opportunity to fine-tune his game before heading to Paris. With 1,099 tour-level wins and 24 Grand Slam titles, Djokovic remains one of the most formidable players on the circuit, and his participation in Geneva adds excitement to the tournament
