Even if Roger Federer lost a heartbreaking final in Wimbledon against a fantastic Novak Djokovic, the Swiss appears in supreme form and ready for a strong second part of the season.

The world no.3 announced that he will skip the Rogers Cup in Montreal to rest his body and be ready for Cincinnati and the US Open.

Federer’s schedule and Bercy

During a recent interview with the Croatian media, Roger’s coach Ivan Ljubicic explained why he likes to be on tour and when he is going to stay with the Swiss during the rest of the season so as to “uncover” Roger’s schedules.

Ivan commented

“The first tournament after the break will be Cincinnati. I do not know if I’m coming or Severin Lüthi [will go]. After that the US Open, we will travel together to Shanghai, Basel, maybe Paris-Bercy and the ATP-Final.”

Federer and Bercy

Federer usually is not very keen on playing in Bercy as the ATP1000 is squeezed between the home tournament in Basel and the ATP Finals. Therefore, if he feels that his body is tired after playing in Switzerland, he usually prefers to rest and get ready for the finals.

Last year, Roger decided to play, and he lost in the semifinal to Novak Djokovic. In the previous years, the Swiss was harshly criticized by the tournament director Guy Forget when Federer was not competing in Paris. The Maestro won the even back in 2011.
