Bouchard named the Tennis Canada female player of the year

Tennis Canada is experiencing an interesting moment. Milos Raonic had the best season of the year after he ended 2016 as world no.3. In the WTA circuit, things are not as pretty with Genie Bouchard being the only player in the top100. The next top Canadian female player is world no.173 Francois Abanda.

For this reason, after another disappointing season, Genie won the Tennis Canada female player of the year even if she ended 2016 as world no.46 and her only accomplishment was reaching the finals in Kuala Lumpur and Hobart.

In 2014, Bouchard reached the finals in Wimbledon and Wuhan; furthermore, she won her maiden title in Nurnberg before reaching her career high (no.5). That seems to be far far away.
