Stefanos Tsitsipas and Nick Kyrgios played a rather entertaining match in doubles at the Citi Open. Even if they lost in 3 sets to the seeds no.1 (Cabal and Farah), the Greek and the Australian demonstrated great chemistry on court.
After the match, Kyrgios sent a heartfelt message to Stefanos Tsitsipas and he said that he would stay as much as he can away from the Greek off court not to be a bad influence.
Tsitsipas inspired by Kyrgios
After the match, the pair had a joint interview and Tsitsipas admitted he was inspired by Kyrgios to say:
“I got inspired today, honestly, I won’t lie. His serve was brutal…I wish I could serve like that. It’s unbelievable to see that in a human being. Very very fun.
I got to know you a bit more. My opinion about you is still [pause] good…I really enjoyed the company and moments we shared.”
It’s not clear if Stefanos and Nick are going to play together again in doubles. There are rumours that they might give it a shot in Asia (Beijing or Shanghai). However, in his message on Instagram, Nick said to Stefanos “see yo Cincinnati.” Will that be their next one together?
