After a lousy stint in Indian Wells and Miami where he crashed out in the 3rd round in both events, Andy found his way to winning nine tournaments and finishing the season as the deserving world no.1.

According to Novak Djokovic, Andy’s wife, Kim Sears, produced a decisive effort to manage the newborn and let her husband free to focus on his job. Novak commented
“She has to get some credit, guys. She gave birth this year. He has traveled all over the place. I know how it is with my wife, Jelena, what she had to go through as a mother back home with a little baby. So Kim: Well done. She’s maybe made even a bigger effort than Andy.”
