The new and final ATP rankings of the year have two big points: first Andy Murray is the deserving world no.1; second, Raonic endw the seasons as world no.3.
Murray
Besides the fact that Andy has finished the season as the world no.1, the Brit has also opened an important gap with Djokovic (almost 1000pts). The Serb has a lot of points to defend at the beginning of the year, and that means that Andy is almost sure to stay at the top spot in the rankings at least for other 4 or 5 months.
Raonic
Even if Milos Raonic has won just one tournament in 2016 (Brisbane over a sick Federer), the Canadian had a very consistent season after he reached the final in Indian Wells, at Queens, in Wimbledon. This performance allowed Milos to end the season as world no.3.
Nadal
Unfortunately, Rafa’s season has been hampered by his wrist injury that came at the worst possible moment (just before the Roland Garros). Rafa ends 2016 as world no.9.
Federer
King Roger had an extremely unfortunate season. After the Australian Open, he injured his knee, and he has never fully recovered from that. Roger had to quit the competitions soon after Wimbledon, and he ends the year as world no.16 (that sounds wrong!)
