Perfect Raonic easy in London opener

Milos Raonic answers in the best possible way to the suspects that he was unfit for the final after he retired from injury in Paris.

The Canadian dismisses Gael Monfils in his first match at the World Tour Finals 6-3 6-4. Milos conceded no break points, to break Gael once per set. The Canadian blasted 12 aces without committing any double fault.

Taking care of my serve was the key. RAONIC

Milos confirmed that being in firm control of his serve was the key to winning this match

“I gave myself a lot of opportunities,” commented Raonic. “I played well. I took care of my serve very efficiently. All those things came together nicely. I competed well, had a good attitude and hit the ball pretty well as well.”

I love this court. MONFILS

Even if Gael lost, the Frenchman enjoyed a lot the energy on court to comment

“It’s a big court with a great atmosphere. I simply love it. It’s a big court, wide on the sides, and super deep.”

Next vs. Djokovic

Milos will play Novak Djokovic in the next match. The head to head is 7-0 for the world no.2, but on this court, Raonic has a chance to upset his nemesis finally.
