Stefanos Tsitsipas will be back to competitions in Washington after a rather long break.
The Greek sensation crashed out in the very first round in Wimbledon to decide to take a long vacation to recharge and have a great stint in North America.
Stefanos will kick start the American summer in Washington where he will be the top seed at the Citi Open. Tsitsipas will be among the top favorite strong also from the fact that Sascha Zverev opted to play the home tournament in Hamburg instead of defending his in Washington where he felt he was not really “desired” by the new management.
Tsitsipas’ path in Washington
Stefanos didn’t have a fantastic draw in Washington. In fact, after his 1st round bye, he is projected to face Denis Kudla in the 2nd round, and then an in-form Jan-Lennard Struff before potentially facing home favorite John Isner. In the semifinal, Stefanos may play Kevin Anderson that is used to perform well on the American soil. It’s difficult to pick a potential finalist on the other side of the draw. In fact, even if Karen Khachanov is seeded no.2 he will have a massive competition with Raonic, Medvedev, and Cilic being the most significant danger.
Potential quarters
According to the seedings, these are the potential quarters
