RANKINGS. Zverev is projected to be back to be the world no.4 at least for 1 week

ZVEREV AND THIEM

Sascha Zverev is finally finding his way on and off the court.

After a troubled 1st half of the season, the German seems to be confident to have settled his problems with his former manager Patricio Apey, he is back with his girlfriend Olya Sharypova, he parted ways with Ivan Lendl (after a troubled relationship), and he will be back to the future as he will have his father around him again a bit “closer” in the coaching team.

The German is currently playing his home tournament in Hamburg where he won a sensational quarter-final against Philipp Krajinovic after recovering from a nasty 2-6 2-5 deficit (see article).

LIVE RANKING. How Zverev will overtake Thiem

Sascha is aiming at winning the all thing in Germany, and that will allow him to overtake his dear friend Dominic Thiem in the ATP rankings from next Monday. In fact, in the so-called live rankings, Sascha has now 4415 points while Dominic has just lost in the quarters and he will have 4595 points at the beginning of next week. If the German wins the title in Hamburg, he will obtain 4735 points to be back to be the world no.4

However, Sascha will not defend his title in the upcoming ATP500 in Washington after he said he had the impression that the new management was not “very keen on him.” That means that even if Sascha passes Dominic after this week in the rankings, the Austrian will undoubtedly take his world no.4 rank back the week after.
