Even if Andy Murray has finally managed to be the new world no.1, the Brit admits that the best thing of the year was becoming a father.

Andy became father soon after the Australian Open (the 7th of February), and in a recent interview, he admitted that that was the best moment of the year. Andy released the following comment to the Suddeutsche Zeitung.
“I will explain here that for me, she has been the best thing of the year. I enjoyed much being on court, but being father for the first time ever is the best thing happened to me this year.”
In another interview, Murray explained how having a daughter helped him.
“At the end of days, getting to see my kid and have something to take my mind away from tennis helped. It made tennis not the most important thing anymore,” he commented.
