Nadal back to competition at the end of December

Rafael Nadal has decided to halt his season after he crashed out in the Shanghai opener at the hands of Viktor Troicki. The Spaniard chose to take a break in order to recover from his wrist injury, and he now announces that he will be back to competitions in Abu Dhabi in December where he will play the Mubadala World Tennis Championship.

The announcement came from Rafa that tweeted as follows

Why Nadal chose to play the competition

Rafa explained why he decided to compete in Abu Dhabi 

“I really enjoy the fans, the competition and the atmosphere in the stadium in Abu Dhabi,” Nadal commented in a release. “It is the best way to start my season. I’ve enjoyed many years playing in the UAE capital against the other top guys, and I’m already looking forward to the next.

After playing in Abu Dhabi, I went on to play some great matches on the tour at the start of the year, and I’ll be hoping for even better this time.”

The complete line-up is made by Andy Murray, Milos Raonic, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, David Goffin, Tomas Berdych and Rafael Nadal.

What’s the Mubadala Wolrd Tennis Championship

The Mubadala Wolrd Tennis Championship is an exhibition with six players that compete for the title and $250,000 in prize money. The competition is usually used by the players to fine-tune their games before the start of the official season.  

The competition will be played the 29th-31st of December.
