Roger Federer gave a private tennis lesson to Prince George

Prince George gets a tennis lesson from the great Roger Federer

On July 22nd, Prince George turned 6 years of age. At the moment the tiny tot is enjoying a family trip to the private island of Mustique. As per the reports coming, the prince will be given a “magic-themed” birthday party by his family when he is back from vacation.

The royal summer vacation for the young prince is on for a while now – it includes tennis lessons from the great Roger Federer, a picnic at a polo match and a fabulous trip to the island of Mustique.

Who is Prince George’s favourite tennis player?

Prince George’s favourite player is Roger Federer so it was a great experience for him to receive the tennis lessons from him at his grandparent’s house in Bucklebury, England. While at Wimbledon earlier this month, the duchess spoke about the young prince’s tennis lessons with Anne Keothavong. At only six, George has some great tennis skills.

Later Federer himself confirmed about this during a press interview at Wimbledon. In his interview, Roger termed George a “cute kid” and then said that “it’s very big” to be the favourite player of the young prince.

Roger was appreciative of the tennis skills of the young prince. He said:

“At that stage, it’s all about just touch the ball. It’s already good. Same with my boys, I think I have a little advantage that I actually spent some time, you know, with him.

He added:

“So maybe I’m the only player he’s ever met, then you have a little head start in who is your favourite player.”

When the young prince is at Kensington Palace, then he spends most of his time with his mother Kate Middleton. She encourages this and says that it’s important to be outside to remain fit and healthy. She says:

“It encourages creativity, confidence, even a short amount of time — 10-15 minutes outside — makes a huge difference to both physical well-being but also to our mental well-being.”
