Novak Djokovic surprised everyone after stating that a spiritual/love guru would have followed him in Paris instead of his “normal” coaching team.
That worked like a charm for the Serbian that had an excellent start of his Paris campaign against a dangerous Gilles Muller. The world no.1 looked calm and focussed on the task to break Gilles once per set without ever dropping a service game. The result was 6-3 6-4, and the match ended after 80 minutes.
I had the right pace from the beginning. DJOKOVIC
Nole was very happy with his start to comment
“It was great to start off the way I did today. Not an easy opponent because he serves and volleys, and I found the conditions quite quick. I think I managed to find the right rhythm, right pace from the very beginning… capitalized on the opportunities when they were presented. I was quite pleased with my serve. I think I got a lot of free points there. It was quite a good performance.”
